Restaurants worth visiting in Lima

When you travel to Peru, which is called the country of South American gourmet, you can experience different foods from familiar foods to foods which you have tasted for the first time.

Lima, a gastronomic city and gateway to Peru, offers Michelin restaurants as well as a variety of local, Western, and Japanese styles. Of course, there are also many Korean restaurants.

In this post, i will introduce you to some of the best restaurants in Lima. If you walk around Miraflores, Barranco and San Isidro, and enter the prominent restaurants, most of them are above average, so you may want to know the restaurant we introduce for your reference.

1.Siete sopas

This restaurant has been introduced a lot among people traveling to Peru recently and is also popular with locals. The main menu of this restaurants is Sopa. Sapa is a soup dish made with meat and potatoes. You can enjoy the savory taste of meat and broth without being very irritating. The price is also less than 20 soles for the main menu, Sopa, which doesn't feel expensive.

However, it is a very popular restaurant with locals too, so if you arrive at the time of lunch or dinner time, the line may be long and you may have to wait.

(There are more menu such as pasta or other peruvian food.)

Siete Sopas

The main menu, Sopa, is available in small, medium and large sizes. When ordering with other menus, you can order'small' size and eat it together. Sopa has Sopa Del Día, which is a different menu is prepared daily, so that the menu is served on that day, and the Sopa Criolla, which can be ordered every day, is a menu that can be ordered at any time.

The menu below is a daily sopa menu of 'Sopa Del Día' that can be ordered by day of the week.

2. Huaca Pucllana

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy a meal while watching the ancient pyramid ruins in the center of Miraflores city. If you are visiting at night, the mystical pyramids illuminated by beautiful lights can make your trip to South America even more memorable.

There is a small museum in the restaurant where you can also see exhibits.

Since you can dine with a beautiful view of the historic sites, it is essential to make a reservation in advance for a meal at a good seat.

3. Cala

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery of Lima. It is located in the Barranco area.

Along with the restaurant, you can enjoy music like a club at night, so it is a restaurant popular with party-goers on weekends.

Since it is located right next to the seaside, you can enjoy a meal with the sound of the sea, and you can enjoy a meal while watching the sunset.

4.  Las brujas de cachiche

There are also many restaurants in Lima where you can enjoy a buffet. Among them, this is the restaurants that I have visited frequently.

Located in Miraflores, not far from the beach, it is great for dining and walking.

You can enjoy a buffet and a drink for about 100 soles (≒30 US$). There are not many types of food, but the quality is good. The interior decoration of the dining room has a European feel.

In Lima, there are a lot of restaurants in addition to the ones mentioned above.

If you fail in food while traveling, you often only have bad memories. In Peru, food tends to be a little salty, and some foods contain cilantro. To avoid this, please take a little salt of "Poca Sal Por favor" and without cilatro "Sin Culantro Por favor". Please note.

Currently, some are open because of COVID-19, some are only delivered, and some are temporarily closed. I hope the day comes when COVID-19 ends soon and you can always enjoy delicious food in Lima.
